After alignment, the StarWand™, using motion sensor technology and a <1Mw laser , can be aimed anywhere in the night sky to command a Synscan™ AZ, EQ or AZ-EQ mount, with a Synscan™ handset fitted, to automatically slew to that position. From that approximate point, the user will then have to make slewing adjustments using the handsets controls to finally locate the desired object, which is very useful educationally, as well as rewarding, as the user has to navigate to the final object.
